I've prob'ly said this a few times before but Grete is such a good greeter.  Usually when I already have Rusty she gives me a quick (but still super sweet) hello with lot of wonderful waggles and hip rubs and squeezing between my legs at least once.  But when Rusty isn't around that gets drawn out to a good few minutes.  She's such a sweetie!

Happy tail!

We both enjoyed the heck out of the nice warm sun today.  We wandered down south and found a little school a few blocks down that I had no idea was there.  We didn't quite make it all the way there before we had to turn round but we could see the play area from the top of the hill overlooking the school.

Glad you had fun, Grete.  See you later!

Grete was ready to go today, very happy to get to go out and check out the neighborhood.  She was very interested in the storm drain pipes in the ditches today.  I think she can smell that racoons and/or cats hide out in them.

721 005.jpg
Smelling some rocks.

721 006.jpgGrete Smile!

We did a loop up to the north today.  There was a touch of wet stuff in the air but no real rain, thankfully.  She did get pully at one of the ditch drains that had a really good smell near it, but other than that she was her normally perfect self.

Thanks for the walk, Lady!

Yep. Just like old times... : D  They got back into being a bit rougher today at one point.  A bit more barking and speed and crashing rolls.  All good well behaved fun though, I asked them to take a checkin break once just as they decided to to so themselves anyways.  Such awesome dogs...

Hip check!

Zoomin' and snappin'

We played a bit more fetch between bouts too.  I tried to get the hang of aiming the little purple chuck it well enough to hit the soccer ball from across the yard... not too easy.  (I've never really played with them before, they seem like fun though)

Thanks Grete and Rusty, you're the best!

Oh Grete... you're such a good greeter all wags, wiggles, and smiles.  The dog I 'walked' before Grete is new and wouldn't even let me put a leash on without growling and snapping at me.  So Grete was a very nice change of pace today ; )

719 008.jpg
We found a cat to point and wimper at.

719 009.jpgBest smile ever!

We had a few extra minutes when we got back so we played fetch in the back for a bit.  On our walk we wandered up to the East a bit and then a few blocks south.  We found lots of good smells and got pretty good at stepping over the leash when it would get caught under a front leg (not many of my dogs have figured that concept out yet...)

Nice to see you again, Grete!

It was nice to see Rusty again today.  We leashed up and headed over to Gretes Yard after a quick run around the yard.

718 006.jpg
They were back at it in no time.

718 010.jpgI forgot how fast they are...

They got tired of play fighting relatively quickly so we played some fetch to keep them moving.  We had a few nice relaxing sun breaks too though.

Great to see you two again Grete and Rusty!

It was nice to see miss Grete again.  Other dogs can arguably be considered my favorite, but Grete is un-arguably so.

715 010.jpg
Gettin' some loves.

715 011.jpgShe seemed pretty ready for a nap as soon as we got back home.

We took a wander down the dead end and checked out the cool little alley path way.  The we checked out a few blocks down south before wandering back home.

Thanks for the walk Lady, see you soon!

Hair cut! Rusty seemed kinda confused as to why half the yard smelled (and tasted) like Grete.  She looked very nice though and much cooler after all the roughhousing.

Grete's new look.

512 023.jpgRusty still looks dashing, even though he doesn't change his hair style often.

We played some ball and they did laps and play fought.  Grete took a few breaks and flopped down and hung out while Rusty made extra sure he hadn't missed any of the new smells in the yard.  I had a nice talk with Quincy on the way out, too.

Thanks again for everything ( both to awesome dogs and awesome people)

Hope to see you soon and many many more times!

We made extra sure not to walk on Rusty's front grass today (new fertilizer).  Rusty was whining when I showed up and I was worried something was wrong, but no, he just wanted to go play.

Back at it again!

Happy Rusty tongue.

They were great today. After I got Rusty and let Grete out, Grete did her little waggle tail squeeze between your legs greeting a few times and got some back-rubs but then Rusty came running between us and hip checked her.  And off they went.  But even though they were play fighting they were both totally relaxed, usually they're pretty barky and aggressive (seeming) to start and then they mellow out.  But today their whole first 2 or 3 minutes of play fighting was bark free and chill.  Such great dogs!

I will definitely miss getting to hangout with these guys on a regular basis.

Thanks for the fur play time, Grete and Rusty!

Whoo! got some more decent action shots of two of the fastest non-greyhounds on the planet.

I think Grete was about to land a solid hip check...

55 021.jpgBoth airborne. Both barking.  Love it.

We played some more ball today.  Grete got way sneakier with dropping the ball off behind me where rusty couldn't see it.  And rusty got better at deciding Grete's ball wasn't cool anymore and going and getting another one for me to throw.  If I only use one ball Grete always gets it because she runs out a ways before I throw it but rusty stays focused and right by my side until I do throw.  With my limited knowledge of hunting I think that's what you would want him to do so I won't try to change that behavior (I'll have to chat with Tim about it next time).  Anyways, that's why I was encouraging him to get another ball so we could run Dual-fetch and get them both running when they decide to take a break from play fighting.

Thanks Grete and Rusty, you're the best!

Rusty nose flung the door open and ran outside with a happy bark and lots of wiggles today, he was ready to go play! Grete was pretty much the same way, she play barked and bounced around at me for not unlocking the door quick enough.  But she gave me some leg leaning cuddles to say thanks on her way over to terrorizing Rusty. Such cool dogs.

Snap!

53 029.jpgBreak time.

53 030.jpgAlmost looks like he's out hunting.
I think he was just mid-stride though.

They were awesome as always.  Somebody did give a little yelp once ( I think it was just an ear bite that was a bit too hard) but they both stopped and checked in without me having to do anything.  So they each got treats for that.  We played some ball, because Rusty kept getting them out of the planter or off the rail any time I'd put them back. Grete's funny she knows which ball she's been playing with and refuses to play with any of the others.  Rusty pooped twice so make sure he gets two servings at dinner tonight ; )

See you soon Pups!
