Day 2 - Saturday June 6
7am - When I went downstairs this morning I was so happy to see he was in his crate! His little peanut butter bone was with him almost empty. He hadn't had any messes overnight. I fed him a few kibbles and we went outside. He peed about 7 times and walked around the yard a bit. When the planes are overhead he moves towards me instead of away from me which is a good sign I guess. Suki and Elly stood upstairs on the couch at the window and barked at us - they know what he looks like now.
He got a walk at 8, 9, 10:30, and 12:30 and we have had no pees or poos in the garage, just in the yard!! He is starting to mark the ground with his feet too. From 11 to 12:30 he was crated while I ran an errand, I had to put him in, but he was perfectly comfortable in there once he was in. He is almost walking on his own from the garage to the outside, and did walk back in on his own once. He is moving more quickly around the yard and wanting to go further. I am wondering whether a bath would be ok later on, maybe I will wait until the morning.... I would like to have him in the actual house by tomorrow evening if he keeps improving.
Day 2 is over, and Heath has had no accidents in the garage! And... he is almost liking being petted by myself or Robert. He is successfully walking into the backyard and back into the garage, and into his ex-pen, by himself, or with little prompting. He followed Robert around the backyard for a little bit tonight, which was very encouraging. He is definitely getting a bath in the morning.
